Oceanside Sunset Engagement Session: Brittney & Bryan – Jamestown, Rhode Island

If you ask me, engagement sessions are one of the most important things to do in the months leading up to your wedding. Not only do you get to do something fun (and how about turn it into a date night?!) with your fiancé, but it’s also the perfect way to get to know your photographer on a more personal level, experience how they shoot, and warm up to being in front of the camera. I can’t tell you how many times my couples are totally nervous to put themselves out there and get their photo taken! I always reassure them that it will be fun, relaxed, and not as dreadful as they think…and they’re always glad they did it. It’s my goal to send couples off after their session with so much excitement to do it all over again on the wedding day.

Brittney & Bryan were definitely one of those cases! They were pretty nervous and thought they’d be ‘that awkward couple’ in front of the camera. Once we started shooting, I couldn’t believe they were ever worried! They clearly have such a loving connection between one another, and it shows within their engagement session.

We met in Jamestown at Fort Wetherill when the sun was still high in the sky and shot right on through to sunset, ending at the Beavertail Lighthouse. I am always taken back by the beauty of the Rhode Island coast – we live in such a crazy gorgeous state! These two were total champs as they pretty much went WHEREVER I asked them to go! Even when I asked them to get pretty close to the edge of a cliff, they were all for it. My kinda people! ;)
