Ashley + Ron: Woodsy Mountainside Barn Wedding at West Mountain Inn in Arlington, Vermont

On 6.10.17, Ashley + Ron were married on the gorgeous grounds of one of my favorite little Vermont venues – West Mountain Inn in Arlington!

I first visited WMI as a guest for a friends wedding back in 2015 – and I fell in love. I love Newport weddings, but being from Vermont, I am partial to the woodsy and rustic vibe – and this venue brings all of that and more to the table! WMI has absolutely everything you’d want for a Vermont wedding – a little quaint locally owned Inn sitting on 150 acres with mountain views, lush green gardens, a farm with alpacas (!!), and a historic barn (where the reception was held).

Ashley + Ron were married during a quick ceremony in a field by a big tree. As we set off to take photos at multiple destinations along the property, guests were invited to the yard space next to the Inn for cocktail hour. It was a gorgeous early summer day, so guests enjoyed walking around, visiting the alpacas, and lounging at cocktail tables taking in the mountain views. Ashley & Ron live in NY, so this was a destination wedding for most, and I heard from multiple guests how great of a time they were having!

When Ashley first contacted me, she included lots of details about the vision of their wedding – organic, neutral colors – eucalyptus, lots of lush greenery, rustic. When the event came, I was SO impressed with how well her vision matched up! The reception details were stunning! AND…guys – Ashley + Ron’s MOTHERS were the florists! They did all of the bouquets and arrangements. I mean, how incredible, right?! Take a look at those flowers and details – straight out of a magazine! Props to you ladies!

A few of my favorite parts about this wedding: Ashley chose to do a first look with her Father, John, which was one of the sweetest first looks I’ve seen! John’s face says it all – you could tell he was SO proud of his beautiful daughter. Toward the end of the reception, the grandmothers were all still in attendance and ended up getting out of their seats to party on the dance floor! It started with Ashley, her brother & grandmother, and the circle kept growing until it was the whole two families joined together. One of the most memorable and sweetest moments from any reception I’ve been to.
